Police Log: Concerns About Coyotes, Kids in Hoodies and a Domestic Arrest

The following information was provided by the Concord Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Friday, Dec. 13

1:39 a.m. – As a result of a motor vehicle stop in the area of Union Turnpike and the Acton line, an Ashburnham resident was given a verbal warning for defective equipment.

8:19 a.m. – As a result of a motor vehicle stop in the area of Sudbury Road and Route 117, a Carlisle man was cited for speeding.

10:03 a.m. – As a result of a motor vehicle stop in the area of Main and Water streets, a Concord woman received a written warning for speeding.

11:38 a.m. – A Concord woman called to complain about a blue Toyota that passed her on Thoreau Street and then cut her off heading toward Concord Center. The responding officer was unable to locate the vehicle, but spoke with the driver’s parents to advise them of the complaint.

2:06 p.m. – A Main Street resident called 911 to report a past domestic involving his son, who was allegedly throwing objects at him in their home. Drew Alexander Dummit, 21, of 864 20th St., Boulder, Colorado, was arrested and charged with simple assault and battery.

2:22 p.m. – Police responded to a call reporting a dark gray SUV ran a Stop sign in Monument Square.

4:50 p.m. – A Boston woman called to report she struck a deer while driving on Old Road to Nine Acre Corner, by the Concord Country Club. The responding officer reported minor damage to the vehicle, and that the deer had fled into the woods.

6:37 p.m. – Police responded to a 911 call from an Alford Circle residence reporting a solicitor for WGBH was outside of her house, and the caller was concerned for the man’s safety after hearing a coyote in the area. The responding officer reported the solicitor was escorted to his vehicle.

7:43 p.m. – A nurse from Emerson Hospital called to request assistance with an intoxicated and combative patient in the Emergency Room.

9:05 p.m. – Police responded to a report of a suspicious construction vehicle parked in the turnaround on Silver Hill Road. The responding officer reported the vehicle checked OK, and its driver was waiting for a resident in a nearby home.

9:28 p.m. – A Caterina Heights resident called 911 to report two suspicious males in hooded sweatshirts were walking Deacon Haynes Road from Caterina Heights. The responding officer located the individuals, who were CCHS students and checked OK; they were walking to a home on White Ave.
