Police Log: False Alarms, Accidents and a Possible Scam

Thursday, Feb. 21

12:29 a.m. – Norel Services called in a clubhouse motion alarm at Concord Country Club. The responding officers reported the building checked secure.

2:33 a.m. – Police responded to an alarm activation at Winston Flowers on Main Street. The responding officer reported the business checked secure and the alarm was reset.

10:26 a.m. – A Southfield Circle resident reported receiving a suspicious phone call from someone claiming to be from Medicare who asked for her Social Security number, saying it was needed to issue her a new card. The caller said she did not release any information and had already notified the Attorney General’s Office about the call.

10:53 a.m. – Officers responded to a minor motor vehicle accident in the area of Nashawtuc Road and Main Street. An ambulance was dispatched to the scene to assist with a motorist reportedly experiencing back pain.

11:05 a.m. – A Concord Greene resident reported his girlfriend drove at him when leaving the parking lot of his residence after having a disagreement. The caller refused to provide any additional information when police responded to the scene, saying he did not want to get his girlfriend “in trouble.”

2:44 p.m. – A Belknap Street resident reported vehicles were parked on both sides of the section of his street between Thoreau and Main streets. The responding officer noted one vehicle was possibly blocking the roadway, and contacted its registered owner to ask that she move her car.

2:50 p.m. – Police responded to a report of a possible domestic disturbance at Everett Gardens. It was a verbal argument only, the incident report said.

5:15 p.m. – A 911 call came in reporting a minor motor vehicle accident in the area of Main Street and Route 2.

5:23 p.m. – An Elm Street resident reported she was checking on the house of a neighbor who was away on vacation and noticing a door was left ajar. Police checked the building with the caller and, after finding no sign of forced entry, determined the open door was likely due to apparent neglect by the cleaners.
