Police Log: Illegal Driving, an Injured Hawk and Overnight Parking Issues

The following information was provided by the Concord Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Saturday, Jan. 11

6:17 a.m. – Officers investigated a reported motor vehicle accident in the area of Sanborn Middle School on Old Marlboro Road. The responding officer located the vehicle crash on Old Pickard Road, according to the incident report.

7:01 a.m. – Police responded to a report of a disabled motor vehicle that lost its wheel in the area of Harrington Avenue and South Street.

8:47 a.m. – A Main Street resident called to complain about two people in a white van posting signs for a rug sale in Acton that day. Police were unable to locate the van, but found a dozen signs in snowbanks along Main Street. The responding officer spoke with the owner of the business that posted the signs, who said they will pick up the signs.

10:03 a.m. – Police responded to a report of suspicious activity in the area of Brown and Central streets involving an Chevy Suburban that’s been parked on Brown Street by Central for about 15 minutes. The responding officer reported the vehicle was there with Scouts picking up Christmas trees in the area.

2:03 p.m. – A Holdenwood Road resident reported an injured hawk in the area.

4:49 p.m. – Police responded to a report of an erratic motor vehicle, a white Toyota FJ Cruiser, that passed a school bus over the double yellow lines on Lowell Road approaching Monument Square. The responding officer was unable to locate the vehicle in question.

6:32 p.m. – As a result of a motor vehicle stop in the area of Bypass Road and Route 2, a Danvers resident was cited for operating an unregistered motor vehicle and no inspection sticker.

Sunday, Jan. 12

12:38 a.m. – As a result of a motor vehicle stop in the area of Route 2 west by Old Road to Nine Acre Corner, a Concord man was cited for speeding.

2:56 a.m. – An officer radioed in to report newspapers scattered all over the lot at Nine Acre Convenience, possibly by the wind.

4:06 a.m. – Officers on patrol issued citations for overnight parking violations in the areas of Main and Derby streets, and Lapham, Upwood and MacArthur roads.
