Police Log: Motor Vehicle Breaks, Suspicious Activity

The following information was provided by the Concord Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Thursday, Dec. 5

6:53 a.m. – As a result of a motor vehicle stop in the area of Man and Walden streets, a Bedford man was given a written warning for an unspecified motor vehicle violation.

6:56 a.m. – Police responded to a report of a break-in to an unlocked motor vehicle on Highland Street. The vehicle was unlocked at the time of the break, and nothing was reported missing.

7:12 a.m. – An officer reported locating another vehicle broken into on Highland Street. The second vehicle was also unlocked, and also had nothing reported missing.  

8:54 a.m. – As a result of a motor vehicle stop on Baker Avenue Extension, a Hudson woman received a verbal warning for no inspection sticker.

9:33 a.m. – A Shore Drive resident called to complain about a truck from 1-800-Got-Junk observed driving on the White Pond Association beach and then parking three houses down from her on Shore Drive. The responding officer reported the vehicle was gone on arrival, and 1-800-Got-Junk reported they had no work in that area.

10:04 a.m. – As a result of a motor vehicle stop on Main Street, a Concord man was cited for operating an unregistered motor vehicle.

11:30 a.m. – Police responded to a report of an unlocked motor vehicle broken into the previous night on Wright Road. The caller reported her purse was taken during the break.

12:45 p.m. – A Shirley Street resident called to report illegal trash dumping on a path by Cousins Field on Prairie Street. The responding officer located a small amount of trash by the riverbank from a path off Cousins Field.

3:08 p.m. – A call from the School Transportation Department reported a moving truck parked on Macarthur Road was making the street impassable for a school bus in the area.

3:34 p.m. – Police responded to a reported motor vehicle accident by 51 Walden.

4:57 p.m. – Officers investigated a reports of a pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle in the area of Main Street and Sudbury Road. The pedestrian, a woman, was reportedly conscious, alert and standing on arrival, and she was transported to Emerson Hospital.

5:01 p.m. – As a result of a motor vehicle stop in the area of Old Road to Nine Acre Corner and Wolf Pine Way, a Wayland woman was given a written warning for speeding.

5:49 p.m. – An Estabrook Road resident called to report observing a vehicle parked and running by her residence, and a person with a flashlight walking away from the car. The responding officer reported the vehicle was not, in fact, running, but the operator was nowhere to be found.

7:12 p.m. – A Woodland Road resident reported a man canvassing the area. The responding officer reported the man was from WGBH, who had checked in with the police about soliciting.

9:14 p.m. – Police responded to a burglary alarm activation at the Concord Free Public Library. It was confirmed as accidental.
