Police Log: Mysterious Light Rises Up Out of the River

The following information was provided by the Concord Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Friday, Aug. 2

5:28 a.m. – A 911 caller from Fairhaven Road reported observing personal belongings outside a home on Abbott Lane and a door ajar. The caller said he was concerned something happened inside the home. The responded officer reported the resident and belongings at the Abbott Lane residence had moved out to the garage due to water damage inside the home.

11:22 a.m. – Police responded to a reported past breaking-and-entering to a motor vehicle on Elm Street in which a computer was taken from a vehicle and tossed into a neighbor’s yard.

12:01 p.m. – A Belknap Street resident called to complain about the generator at nearby Priest Cleaners on Thoreau Street. The responding officer noted a “faint humming sound” from Priest Cleaners and spoke with the business, which will work with the resident who complained.

1:13 p.m. – As a result of a motor vehicle stop in the area of Ministerial Drive and Harrington Avenue, a Concord woman was cited for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and no inspection sticker.

2:31 p.m. – As a result of a motor vehicle stop in the area of Lowell Road and Liberty Street, a Concord woman was cited for operating a motor vehicle with her license suspended and unregistered motor vehicle.

7:40 p.m. – As a result of a motor vehicle stop in the area of Route 2 and Walden Street, a Rindge, NH, man was cited for operating a motor vehicle with his license suspended and miscellaneous motor vehicle equipment violations.

8:29 p.m. – Police responded to a report of a loud group of kids at the Association Beach at White Pond.

9:02 p.m. – A North Branch Road resident reported a light just came up from the river and was no in her backyard. Police checked the area, but were unable to locate the light or the source.
