Police Log: Parking Complaints Aplenty; OUI Charges After Pickup in the Woods

The following information was provided by the Concord Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Monday, Feb. 11

1:02 a.m. – A Virginia Road resident called 911 reporting that, during a verbal dispute with his wife, she made threats to damage the home and make a false assault claim. Police also spoke with the wife, who dialed 911 to report the argument as well.

7:04 a.m. – A passing motorist reported a construction vehicle parked on Elm Street by Musketaquid Road, causing a hazard. The responding officer reported the vehicle left the area prior to his arrival.

10:31 a.m. – A Highway Department employee reported a vehicle parked in the roadway on Ministerial Drive, near Harrington Avenue. The responding officer located the vehicle, which was not in the roadway but did make travel more difficult, and unsuccessful attempted to contact the car’s owner.

2:44 p.m. – The transportation department reported a car was blocking the path of a bus on West Street.

3:45 p.m. – Police responded to a 911 call reporting a pickup truck in the woods on Old Marlboro Road. An engine company on the scene reported the vehicle was vacant and its driver possibly had been transported to the emergency room. Police located the driver, a Maynard man, at Emerson Hospital and he will be summonsed to court for operating under the influence of liquor (second offense), negligent operation of a motor vehicle and leaving the scene of an accident.

6:21 p.m. – A Sudbury Road resident reported a red pickup truck slid off the road and ended up in her yard.

8:12 p.m. – A Barnes Hill Road resident called to report a dog on Lowell Road had been barking for more than 30 minutes.

9:01 p.m. – Police responded to a report of an erratic operator driving eastbound toward Lincoln, approaching Crosby’s Corner on Route 2. Police checked the area, but were unable to locate the motor vehicle, which may have turned down Bypass road.

Tuesday, Feb. 12

8:05 a.m. – Police responded to a report of a gray Volvo operating erratically on Lowell Road. Police were unable to locate the vehicle, but spoke with the registered owner, who said his wife and daughter had the vehicle and his daughter was driving on her learner’s permit.

10:11 a.m. – A parking complaint came in from the 7-Eleven in West Concord, where a motor vehicle was reportedly blocking the delivery entrance.

12:49 p.m. – A Maynard woman reported her iPhone was taken from her unlocked motor vehicle while parked on Main Street.

3:05 p.m. – A Church Green resident called to report having trouble exiting his driveway due to vehicles parked on Lexington Road.

10:35 p.m. – Police responded to an anonymous 911 call reporting an injured deer on Old Powder Mill Road. The responding officers advised the deer was deceased.
