Police Log: Pumpkin Problems, Suspicous Scarecrows and More

The following information was provided by the Concord Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Friday, Nov. 23

2:14 a.m. – ADT Alarm reported a bedroom window alarm activation on Allen Farm Lane, which turned out to be a nonissue.

5:52 a.m. – Police responded to a report of a large pumpkin in the roadway by Walden Street and the Verizon building. The responding office reported it was unknown whether the pumpkin rolled into the street due to its rotting or if the vegetable was placed there.

6:23 a.m. – An officer reported finding a scarecrow on a stick that was placed in the tailpipe of a vehicle parked on Laurel Street by the Alcott School, and he requested that the incident be logged.

9:55 a.m. – A Waltham man came into the station to report finding a wallet somewhere on the commuter rail, which included $42 cash, credit and ATM cards and a driver’s license.

3:19 p.m. – Police received a set of Lexus car keys found on the Minuteman trail by Lexington and Old Bedford roads.

3:31 p.m. – Police responded to a report of cars entering the Starbucks Parking lot and backing up onto Thoreau Street, creating a traffic jam.

5:41 p.m. – Police responded to a report that the construction fence around 300 Baker Avenue had been pushed to the ground. The responding office re ported nothing suspicious in the area.

10:06 p.m. – A Monsen Road resident reported multiple motor vehicles in the area of the Great Meadows Wildlife refuge after hours. The responding officers reported the involved vehicles were sent on their way.
