Police Log: Remote Control 'Copters and Suspicious Calls

The following information was provided by the Concord Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Saturday, Aug. 31

12:41 a.m. – Police responded to a report of suspicious activity at the Ripley School on Meriam Road. According to the incident report, the man flying remote control helicopters in the gymnasium had rented the building, and had no access to the school.

2:08 a.m. – An officer radioed in to report checking on a vehicle at the Rotary Gulf station. An Acton woman at the pumps was attempting to purchase gas, not realizing that the station was closed, according to the incident report.

2:59 a.m. – An officer radioed in to report checking on open windows at the New Life Church on Baker Ave. The interior windows were open, but screens were intact, according to the incident report.

4:22 a.m. – A 911 caller requested police assistance because she was being held against her will at a local assisted living facility. On the call-back, police spoke with a staff member who checked on the resident and reported she did not need assistance.

10:42 a.m. – A Kenney Lane resident came into the station to report several pieces of jewelry were missing from their home.

1:37 p.m. – A 911 call came in from Newbury Court. On the callback, a staffer confirmed the call was accidental.
