Police Log: Smoking Teens, a Man in Camo

The following information was provided by the Concord Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Wednesday, Dec. 25

1:50 a.m. – Police responded to a 911 call from Everett Street reporting a group of youths making loud noises at Emerson Field. The responding officer reported a group of friends staying on Thoreau Street had gone out for a cigarette; they were advised of the complaint and moved along.

10:30 a.m. – A 911 call reported motor vehicle accident at the Route 2 rotary. One of the motorists, a Wisconsin woman, was cited for failure to obey road signs/markings.

11:07 a.m. – As a result of a motor vehicle stop in the area of Route 2 and Old Road to Nine Acre Corner, an Amherst woman received a written warning for expired registration.

2:18 p.m. – Police responded to a parking complaint reporting a vehicle parked in a bad spot on Nimrod Drive.

3:55 p.m. – An anonymous caller reported a man wearing camouflage clothing and carrying a rifle was standing on Route 2 east by the overpass near Old Road to Nine Acre Corner. The responding officer reported the man was gone on arrival; he may have been a hunter who returned to the woods.

6:50 p.m. – Police responded to a report of suspicious activity involving youths jumping the fence near the tennis courts at Nashwatuc Country Club. The responding officer spoke with the caller, who said the youths had left the area.

8:04 p.m. – Police responded to a burglary alarm on Attawan Road. It was confirmed as accidental by a caretaker on the scene.
