Police Log: Swedish Tourists Take Over a Driveway

The following information was provided by the Concord Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Tuesday, Sept. 11

8:33 a.m. – A call came in from the Concord Public Schools advising a dog had been spotted interfering with traffic in the area of Elm Street and Adams Road.

8:46 a.m. – A Concord woman reported her vehicle was struck while parked at the Concord Hillside Medical Associates last week. An officer assisted with the paper exchange and attempted to contact the second operator.

8:53 a.m. – Police responded to a report of a large truck stopping traffic as it was unable to navigate the low bridge on Main Street, near Wood Street.

10:08 a.m. – A Monument Street resident reported a suspicious note was sent to her daughter.

10:15 a.m. – A Concord woman walked into the station to report losing her cell phone around 8 a.m. that morning near the Cumberland Farms or Dunkin Donuts.

12:32 p.m. – A Fairhaven Hill Road resident reported a suspicious motor vehicle with Georgia plates was parked in her driveway. According to the responding officer, the vehicle belonged to Swedish tourists who didn’t realize they couldn’t park there.

1:07 p.m. – Police responded to a report of the railroad gates on Sudbury Road not functioning properly. The Mass Bay Commuter Rail was notified and advised a train was in the area, but they’d check out the gates.

4:39 p.m. – Police responded to a report of an older female in a white Toyota Prius who failed to yield for a pedestrian in a crosswalk at Thoreau and Laurel streets. The responding officer made contact with the operator, who was apologetic once advised of the complaint, the police report said.

5:28 p.m. – Geico called looking for tow listings to assist a motorist with a disabled motor vehicle in the area of Route 2 and Sandy Pond. The company was given towing options and a car was dispatched to check on the disabled motor vehicle.

7:18 p.m. – Massachusetts State Police reported a female running across the highway somewhere between Sudbury Road and Crosby’s Corner. Police checked the area but found no one.

7:23 p.m. – As a result of a motor vehicle stop in the area of Route 2 and Walden Pond, a Malrboro man was cited for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and other charges.

9:41 p.m. – Acton Police related a report of a possibly intoxicated male operator driving a gray Audi on Laws Brook Road heading toward Concord.

11:33 p.m. – A 911 call came in from a confused female at Concord Park. Police placed a call to the assisted living facility and the staff advised there was no emergency.
