Police Log: The One When Three Girls Tried to Steal a Crosswalk Pylon

The following information was provided by the Concord Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Tuesday, Aug. 21

1:19 a.m. – An officer checked on a vehicle parked at the Wildlife Refuge on Monsen Road. The vehicle checked OK and its two occupants were sent on their way.

2:28 a.m. – As a result of a motor vehicle stop on Cambridge Turnpike by the Concord Museum, Eric William Fadden, 32, of 103 Parmenter Road, Framingham, was arrested and charged with operating under the influence of liquor (third offense) and speeding in violation of a special regulation.

6:49 a.m. – A passing motorist reported a tree limb was down across the roadway in the area of Musketaquid Road and Elm Street.

8:48 a.m. – A Lexington man reported his vehicle was disabled in a metered parking spot in front of La Provence on Thoreau Street.

11:57 a.m. – A Grant Street resident reported a large black shepherd dog followed her home from a walk and was now in her yard.

2:39 p.m. – A Library employee reported a truck with Connecticut plates was parked in the Stow Street lot for the past two days.  According to the incident report, the vehicle was parked legally and its owner was visiting a friend in town and became ill.

3:25 p.m. – A Concord woman walked into the station to speak with an officer about two credit cards opened in her name over the past week.

3:37 p.m. – An anonymous caller reported a vehicle on Annursnac Hill Road appeared to have struck a large rock on the side of the roadway and was still blocking the road. The responding officer reported the vehicle was not in the road.

5:29 p.m. – Police responded to a report that three teenaged girls in a white Chevy Yukon attempted to steal a crosswalk pylon in the area of Thoreau and Everett streets.

9:40 p.m. – Norel Services called in a burglar alarm from Concord Country Club, but the responding officers said the building checked secure.
