Police Log: The One With All the Sandy Damage

The following information was provided by the Concord Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Monday, Oct. 29

7:13 a.m. – Police responded to a motor vehicle accident at Dunkin’ Donuts on Main Street in which one occupant was injured and transported to Emerson Hospital.

9:02 a.m. – Multiple calls came in reporting a power outage in the Elm Street area.

9:29 a.m. – A Bartkus Farm resident called to report two vehicles parked and blocking her driveway.

10:39 a.m. – A Nathan Pratt Drive resident reported her tire was vandalized.

10:46 a.m. – Police responded to a report of a vehicle traveling on Route 62 toward Concord with no plates. An officer stopped the vehicle by Baker Avenue and observed a dealer plate. The vehicle checked OK.

10:49 a.m. – An officer radioed in to report he was out with the tree department on Lowell Road, dealing with a tree limb down in the roadway near the bridge.

12:35 p.m. – Police responded to a report of a tree taking down some wires in the area of Lexington Road and Shadyside Avenue. The National Park Service responded to the scene and the roadway was shut down until the tree and wires were removed.

2:02 p.m. – An officer radioed in a report of a downed tree in the area of Lowell and Barretts Mill roads.

2:38 p.m. – A Williams Road resident reported a tree down in the roadway in front of her home.

3:01 p.m. – Multiple calls came in reporting a tree and wires down in the roadway on Hayward Mill Road. 

3:20 p.m. – A 911 call came in reporting a tree down across Thoreau Street.

5:14 p.m. – A call came in reporting a tree and wires down in the roadway on Lowell Road.

6:03 p.m. – Police responded to a report of tree and wires down on Elsinore Street and found a tree down on a vehicle, causing significant damage to it. There was no one inside the vehicle and no injuries, the police report said.  

6:20 p.m. – A call came in reporting a wire across the roadway in the area of Lowell and Indian Spring roads.

7:16 p.m. – A 911 call reported a tree and wires down across the roadway on Monument Street. The road was shut down while a telephone pole leaned over it and the bridge was completely blocked, the police report said.

8:22 p.m. – Multiple calls came in reporting a tree took down wires at Derby and Central streets. The roadway was closed down as CMLP handled.

9:16 p.m. – State Police reported the lights were out on Route 2 at Crosby’s Corner. MassDOT was notified and power was restored to the area.

10:23 p.m. – A Deaconess Road resident reported a car alarm sounding, but police checked the area and found nothing.
