Police Log: The One with the Hole in the Wall by the Register

The following information was provided by the Concord Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Thursday, Jan. 17

5:22 a.m. – A Jonas Brown Circle resident reported observing a “beat-up” blue van in the area. Police checked the area, but did not locate the vehicle.

5:44 a.m. – Police responded to a reported breaking-and-entering to Concord Gas that occurred sometime overnight. An employee from the store reported there was a hole in the wall adjacent to the cash register, according to the incident report.

10:26 a.m. – A Silver Hill Road resident requested animal control for a “raccoon issue.”

11:24 a.m. – A Concord woman reported losing her prescription glasses somewhere in West Concord. She described them as thin-wired maroon glasses, according to the incident report.

2:21 p.m. – Police responded to a parking complaint regarding a Toyota Corolla parked the in the wrong direction, close to a fire hydrant on Maple Street.

2:49 p.m. – Police responded to a traffic complaint reporting vehicles were not stopping for children in the crosswalk by the Peabody School on Old Marlboro Road.

7:26 p.m. – A 911 caller reported a vehicle was struck by a truck that backed into it near the 99 Restaurant on Commonwealth Avenue.

8:01 p.m. – State Police called to report they were out at the Dunkin’ Donuts on Main Street with an Acton man who was acting suspiciously. Officers were dispatched to assist.

8:15 p.m. – A Worcester woman reported striking a small beige dog on Elm Street about an hour earlier. The woman said she looked around for the dog and checked with some local residents, but was unable to locate the animal or it owner, according to the incident report.

8:36 p.m. – Police responded to a report of a bus running for more than 20 minutes in the Rite Aid parking lot on Lowell Road. It was a Yankee bus waiting to pick up a group from the Colonial Inn, the police report said.
