Police Log: The One with the Smart Car Stupidly Towing Two Teenaged Skateboarders

The following information was provided by the Concord Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Friday, Nov. 30

12:59 a.m. – An officer reported checking on a vehicle with its interior light on in the MCI Concord lot. The vehicle checked OK, the light being left on due to apparent neglect.

2:58 a.m. – Officers responded to Route 2 at Old Road to Nine Acre Corner for a deer in the roadway, which they attempted to remove. State Police also arrived on the scene and notified MassDOT.

7:04 a.m. – A Concord man reported a heavy traffic backup at the Thoreau Street/Sudbury Road intersection due to motorists waiting in the roadway to enter the Starbucks parking lot.

12 p.m. – Police responded to a report of a blue smart car driving on Thoreau Street, going about 30 miles per hour as two teens on skateboards held on to the vehicle as it traveled toward Route 2.

2:38 p.m. – Offices responded to a report of a minor motor vehicle accident on Lexington Road at Cambridge Turnpike. An ambulance was requested to the scene to check on a woman complaining about dizzy spells.

8:37 p.m. – A Concord man walked into the station to speak with an office regarding the alleged theft of checks from his Fairhaven Hill Road residence.
