Police Log: Accidents, Vandalism and Suspicious Activity

The following information was provided by the Concord Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Monday, Dec. 16

9:15 a.m. – Police responded to a report of vandalism and suspicious activity on Highland Street. A resident reported glass was broken on her porch two nights ago, and her husband received a suspicious phone call.

9:25 a.m. – As a result of a motor vehicle stop on Baker Avenue Extension, an Arlington man was cited for a red light violation.

10:06 a.m. – A Lowell Street resident walked into the station to report observing what appeared to be a rental van with two people in it in her driveway. The woman requested an extra eye in the area.

11:07 a.m. – Officers investigated a reported pedestrian accident involving a town vehicle in the area of Thoreau Street and Sudbury Road.

11:38 a.m. – A Concord woman called to complain about a motorist texting while driving in the area of Route 2 and Cambridge Turnpike.

1:13 p.m. – Police responded to an anonymous call expressing concern about parking on Lexington Road near Monument Square.

1:20 p.m. – An officer radioed in to report finding a $100 bill on the floor of the Nine Acre Convenience store.

1:29 p.m. – As a result of a motor vehicle stop at Damon Mill Square, a Concord woman was summonsed for number plate violation to conceal ID, number plate violation, no inspection sticker, uninsured motor vehicle and unregistered motor vehicle.

7:49 p.m. – An abandoned 911 call came in from Concord Health Care. On the callback, it was confirmed as accidental by a patient there.

8:12 p.m. – A 911 call came in from Newbury Court, which was confirmed as accidental a resident there.

Tuesday, Dec. 17

7:46 a.m. – Officers investigated a reported motor vehicle accident in the area of Old Bedford and Lexington roads. As a result, a motorist was cited for an unspecified violation.

8:59 a.m. – The Transportation Department called to report a vehicle impeding bus traffic near the intersection of Central Street and Chase Road.

11:25 a.m. – As a result of a motor vehicle stop on Thoreau Street, a New Hampshire man was given a written warning for making an illegal left turn out of Starbucks.

2 p.m. – Police responded to a reported motor vehicle accident on Baker Avenue. A motorist was cited for an unspecified violation.

6:48 p.m. – Officers investigated a reported motor vehicle accident on Laws Brook Road.

9:05 p.m. – An employee from the Highway Division called to report one of the department’s plows was struck by a private plow clearing a driveway on Sarah Way.

10:33 p.m. – Police responded to a report of strange noises in the hallway of an apartment building on Thoreau Street. The responding officer reported no issues found.

Wednesday, Dec. 18

12:42 a.m. – Police responded to a report of workers making loud noises while conducting snow removal operations at Concord Mews.

4:39 a.m. – A Lexington Road resident called to report a silver Chevy pickup with a plow blade may have struck his vehicle. The responding officer reported confirming there was no damage to the vehicle.

10:33 a.m. – As a result of a motor vehicle stop in the area of Route 2 and Old Road to Nine Acre Corner, an Athol man was given a written warning for an inspection sticker violation.

6:26 p.m. – Police responded to a report of suspicious activity involving a man knocking on the door and ringing the doorbell at a Monument Street residence. The responding officer reported the man was a solicitor from WGBH, which has been canvassing the area.

10:52 p.m. – As a result of a motor vehicle stop in the area of Route 2 and Baker Avenue Extension, a Fitchburg man was given a verbal warning for marked lanes violation.

Thursday, Dec. 19

7:54 a.m. – A woman walked into the station to report a traffic complaint against a motorist she claimed was driving aggressively behind her and passing her on the road.

10:07 a.m. – An Acton resident came into the station to speak with a detective regarding harassing phone calls.

10:27 p.m. – Police responded to a reported town bylaw violation at the Concord Armory on Everett Street involving alleged trespassing and use of a dumpster there.

11:52 a.m. – Police responded to a report of vandalism to a furnace at Concord Park. It appeared someone forced entry into the furnace area and attempted to steal copper, according to the incident report.

2:49 p.m. – Police responded to a parking complaint regarding cars parked in the fire lane and along the chain link fence in the municipal lot off Walden Street.

4:45 p.m. – Police responded to a report of suspicious activity involving two vehicles parked in the area of the well at White Pond. The responding officer reported the vehicles belonged to subcontractors doing repair work for the town sewer.

10:36 p.m. – Officers investigated a reported motor vehicle accident in the area of Garfield and The Valley roads.
