REPORTS: Concord Woman Facing OUI Charges After Hitting Police Cruiser

A Boxborough Police officer reportedly suffered non-life threatening injuries in the accident, which occurred Friday, Feb. 1.

A Concord woman is reportedly facing charges of operating under the influence of liquor after she allegedly crashed into a Boxborough Police cruiser that was attempting to stop another vehicle Friday night.

According to reports by Fox25 and Boston.com, the accident occurred around 11:45 p.m. near Exit 28 on I-495 north. BPD Officer Edward Pokornicki was reportedly attempting to stop a car when a Toyota Corolla driven by Mary Hayes, 52, of Concord, struck the back of his cruiser.

The officer swerved to avoid crashing into the car he had pulled over and was forced to leave the roadway, his cruiser “settling against a large berm and some small trees on the median,” the Globe reported.
