Campaign Update: Martinez Hosts Two Forums

Wednesday and Friday forums to focus on gun ownership and the economy.

Sandi Martinez has announced two additional Town Hall forums focusing on issues important to Massachusetts' voters.  Both of these events will be held at Sandi's Victory Headquarters at 93 Chelmsford Street in Chelmsford.

On Wednesday, Aug. 25, from 7 to 8 p.m., Sandi will be hosting James Wallace, Executive Director of the Gun Owners Action League (GOAL), to discuss current issues surrounding the 2nd Amendment.  GOAL is the official state firearms association in Massachusetts. It is an association of law-abiding citizens who believe in the basic right of firearms ownership for competition, recreation and self-protection.

"I have always been enthralled by the Constitution and the Bill of Rights in particular" said Martinez. "It is interesting to see how people often misinterpret the 2nd amendment as a right of the government, rather than a right of the citizen.  She continued:  "I am happy to have my friend Jim Wallace out to talk about the current events that directly affect the people's rights."

On Friday, Aug. 27, from 7 to 8 p.m., two local economists will join Sandi to discuss the current state of the economy.  Holy Cross Professor Dr. Nicolas Sanchez, author of the book Destined for Failure: American Prosperity in the Age of Bailouts will be a featured speaker, along with Bill Scaglione, President of Professional Enterprise Solutions.

"We are in a very difficult economic situation and it is important for leaders to reach out to the experts in economic issues for sound advice" said Martinez.  "Bill has a terrific way to make complex economic principles understandable for the lay person."  Dr. Sanchez has appeared on Sandi's cable-access television show Speak-Out and has recently completed a national book tour.  According to Martinez, "I always enjoy talking with Dr. Sanchez.  He is very insightful and has an exceptional understanding about what drives the economy."

The public is welcome and encouraged to be a part of these conversations.  RSVP to Sandi Martinez at sandi@sandimartinez.com, or by calling 978-455-0360.
