Concord Memorial Day Parade Monday

All Memorial Day events have been consolidated this year, taking place only on Monday morning.

The following is from the Town of Concord:

Concord invites all Town veterans, residents and guests to the Annual Memorial Day services which will be held on Monday, May 26, 2014.

All Memorial Day events have been consolidated this year, taking place only on Monday morning. This change is intended to encourage more veterans, residents and guests to participate in these solemn services that honor our fallen heroes and those in past and present service to our Country.

Memorial Day parade and remembrance ceremonies will begin in West Concord from Percy A. Rideout Field (9:00 a.m.) and Kenneth J. Dunn Square (9:00 a.m.). Services continue in Concord Center (11:00 a.m.) with a parade that starts at the Keyes Road/ Main Street intersection and proceeds to the Town Hall. The Roll of Honor will be read in front of the Town Hall and commemorative wreaths will be placed at monuments in the Square.

The Concord Independent Battery will fire several times throughout the morning.

All are encouraged to attend any or all of these services and to show respect for the brave men and women who have faithfully protected us from harm and who defend our freedom daily.

Refreshments will be served in Monument Square immediately following the Concord Center services (12:00 noon). Thank you all for attending these important ceremonies!
