Do You Agree That Massachusetts is One of the Best States?

A story published Friday on Politico ranked the Bay State as fifth in the nation.

By Marc Fortier

Massachusetts is the #5 state in the country, according to Politico.

The political website ranked all 50 states based on 14 state rankings from sources like the Census Bureau, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the FBI, and other factors including high school graduation rates, per capita income, crime rates and life expectancy. The website admits that its approach is not scientific.

New Hampshire came out on top, followed by Minnesota, Vermont, Utah and Massachusetts.

Politico took a little bit of heat from some Twitter users because a map accompanying the story originally pointed to Vermont instead of New Hampshire.

"That would be Vermont, not New Hampshire," Tweeted Collin Gately, former press secretary for the New Hampshire Democratic Party.
