LWV Hosts Candidates Forum Feb. 12

The League of Women Voters of Concord and Carlisle to host a forum at the Town House.

 

The following announcement comes from LWV of Concord-Carlisle Communications Director Julie Rohwein.

The League of Women of Voters of Concord-Carlisle will host a Concord Candidates Forum on Sunday, Feb. 12, from 2-4 p.m. in the Town House Hearing Room, 22 Monument Square. Snow date is Feb. 26.

The League has invited all candidates running for office in the to participate in the forum: candidate Eric Van Loon (incumbent); candidates Paul Mahoney and Elise Woodward (incumbent); candidates Philip Benincasa and Jennifer Munn; and candidates Linda Escobedo and Raymond Snay. The only contested local race on the March 6 ballot is for one seat on the Concord Housing Authority.

At the Feb. 12 forum, candidates will answer questions from the League of Women Voters and audience members. Jo-Ann Berry of the Acton Area LWV will moderate the forum. Refreshments will be served. This program is free and open to the public. The LWVCC urges all Concord residents to attend.

The League plans to record the forum for later broadcast on CCTV local cable Channel 8 and for viewing as Video on Demand at www.concordtv.org.

Voters must be registered by Wednesday, Feb. 15, in order to vote in Concord’s Town Election and in the Massachusetts Presidential Primary, both of which will occur on Tuesday, March 6.
