Concord Festival of Authors

Holy Family parish, as part of the Concord Festival of Authors, will host Professor Tom Groome of Boston College presenting on his latest book, Will There Be Faith? Thursday, October 25, 7:30 PM at Monument Hall.

Thomas Groome is Professor of Theology and Religious Education at Boston College and Chair of the Department of Religious Education and Pastoral Ministry at Boston College's School of Theology and Ministry.  His books in religious education have been widely used throughout the world and translated into many languages.  He is married to Colleen Griffith, also a professor of Theology at BC's School of Theology and Ministry.  They are the proud parents of Teddy Griffith-Groome, now eleven - and growing.

Tom thinks it is a serious question to ask, Will There Be Faith going forward, and especially as society becomes all the more "secularized" and inimical to faith.  He notes that Jesus himself asked the same question toward the end of his own public ministry (check Luke 18:8).  Tom's response is - well it all depends, depends on what faith we teach, how we teach it, and to what ends.
