Robertson's Five-Goal Outburst Boosts Fenn

Rounding up Fenn's recent athletic action.

A five-goal outburst by Fenn's Will Robertson (Concord) vaulted Fenn School's Varsity hockey team to victory last week over a visiting Shore/Brookwood squad.

Fenn wasted no time on Wednesday in getting started against visiting Shore/Brookwood, jumping out to a 5-0 first period lead en route to a 6-1 win.  Robertson (Concord) scored five goals and Garren LaPlante (Stow) added a single tally. Jack Tyrie (Winchester) picked up the victory in his first Fenn career start.

Against a hungry Fay team on Friday, Fenn suffered its first setback of the season.  Fenn struggled with possession and was unable to sustain pressure in the offensive zone, while Fay took advantage of its second chances.  Robertson (Concord) and Jake Goorno (Sudbury) each scored twice, while Spencer Pava (Weston) scored once in the 8-5 loss.  Coach Derek Boonisar's team is 4-1 on the season and will compete in the big Fay Tournament on Saturday.

In Varsity Basketball, Fenn picked up its first victory of the season, downing Middlesex on Wednesday, 48-18.  Mitchell Groves (Acton) led the way with 12 points. Nine other Fenn players also contributed to the scoring.  Hosting Fessenden on Friday, Fenn dropped a 40-19 loss.  Zach Lisman (Sudbury) and John Hart (Westford) each contributed 6 points for Fenn.

In JV basketball, Fenn beat Rashi, 50-31 on Wednesday and cruised by Fessenden on Friday, 61-37.  Fenn JV now is 3-2 this season.

In Squad basketball, Fenn scored a 33-32 comeback victory over Fessenden.  Down by eleven points early in the second half, Fenn went on a run, taking the lead on a Tommy Kaye (Wayland) basket with less than two minutes left on the clock.
