Fenn's Varsity Lacrosse Team Wins New England Jr. School Lacrosse Championship

Varsity baseball takes second place in the New England Jr School Baseball Championship.

 

The undefeated Varsity Lacrosse team on Saturday, May 19 became New England Junior School Lacrosse Tournament champions.  In the six-team tournament hosted by Fenn, the Blue-and-Gold beat Fay, 3-1, in the opener, before moving on to handle Indian Mountain, 5-1, and Shore, 5-0.   Tighter games followed, with Fenn edging Hillside, 2-1, and then downing Fessenden, 1-0.  Top-seeded Fenn vaulted into the title game for a rematch with Hillside. This time around, Fenn easily handled Hillside, 8-0.  Fenn goaltender Jonathan Tesoro (Sudbury) posted the three shut-outs in the tournament for Fenn. It was the first time in 11 years that Fenn won the NE tournament.   Fenn puts its 17-0 record on the line in this, the final week of the regular season, with two games scheduled.

In JV lacrosse, Fenn finished the season with a pair of victories, beating Beaver Country Day on Friday, 11-1, and scoring a 7-4 victory on Monday over Park.  Fenn JV finished the season with an 8-3 record.

The NE Junior School Baseball Tournament also was held at Fenn on Saturday, May 19 with the host team scoring a 14-4 victory over Fay in the opening round. In the championship, Fenn's varsity team met Fessenden.  Although the teams kept it close early on, Fessenden broke it open in the late innings, taking home the trophy with a 9-5 win.  Fenn finished in second place.

In JV baseball, Fenn suffered a 5-0 setback on Friday, May 18 at Fessenden, but rebounded with a strong 9-0 victory on Monday against Landmark.

Fenn's Varsity tennis team on Saturday competed in the annual Fessenden Tournament. The top four singles players,  Gavin Tasker (Sudbury), Carter Jones (Concord), Andreas Sheikh (Concord), and Alex Muresianu (Concord) each won their matches.  Tasker also won the consolation round, as Fenn captured third place overall.   

In JV tennis, Fenn dropped a 7-1 decision on Monday to Hillside's varsity tennis team.  Despite the loss, Reid Parisi (Lincoln), who played first and second singles all season,  finished the year with an impressive 8-2 record, with both losses coming at the hands of varsity teams. 

Fenn set multiple personal records at the Hillside Track Jamboree on Saturday, May 19. Highlights included Cole Winstanley (Concord) placing 3rd and Billy Adie (Tyngsboro) placing 5th in the pentathlon.  Luke Newman (Concord) long jumped a season best of 16'. The 4 x 100 relay team of Luke Newman (Concord), Marcus Mazzotti (Medford), Cole Winstanley (Concord), and Odom Sam (Lowell) also placed.  Overall, Fenn tied for 5th in team scoring out of eight teams.
