Monday Essentials: A Recital for Typhoon Haiyan Relief, 'A Christmas Carol' and a Gingerbread Workshop

1. Typhoon Haiyan Relief Benefit Recital: At 7 p.m. this Wednesday, Dec. 11, Trinitarian Congregational Church in Concord will host a piano recital featuring local resident Tanya Bartevyan to benefit Typhoon Haiyan relief. The event is sponsored by Trinitarian Congregational Church, Trinity Episcopal Church, and Newbury Court. Get the details here.
2. Public Meetings Preview: According to the town website, here's the week's lineup of public meetings:
- Monday, Dec. 9: the CCRSD Adult & Community Education Advisory Committee at 4:45 p.m. and the Bruce Freeman Rail Trail Advisory Committee at 7 p.m.
- Tuesday, Dec. 10: a Natural Resources Commission Site Visit at 8:30 a.m., the Hugh Cargill Trust at 9:15 a.m., the Council on Aging at 5:30 p.m., a Concord and Concord-Carlisle School Committees Joint Meeting at 5:30 p.m., the CFPL LIbrary Committee at 7 p.m. and the 2229 Main Street Oversight Committee at 7:30 p.m.
- Wednesday, Dec. 11: the Youth Advisory Board at 7:30 a.m., the Municipal Light Board at 7:30 AM and the Public Works Commission at 7:15 p.m.
- Thursday, Dec. 12: the Historical Commission at 7 p.m. and the Board of Appeals at 7:30 p.m.

4. Ebenezer Scrooge: A Christmas Carol: New Life Fine Arts Musical Theater's original musical adaptation of "Ebenezer Scrooge: A Christmas Carol" hits the stage at the Emerson Umbrella at 7:30 p.m. this Friday, Dec. 13. Get the details here.
5. Gingerbread House Decorating Workshop for Children: At 2 p.m. this Saturday, Dec. 14, the Fowler Branch Library will host a gingerbread house decorating workshop for children. Get the details here.
