Here's a quick look at what you need to know for the week ahead in Concord.
1. Public Meetings Preview: Here's a quick look at this week's public meeting, according to the town website:
- Monday, Aug. 12: Concord Housing Authority at 8 a.m. and the Community Preservation Committee at 7:30 p.m.
- Tuesday, Aug. 13: Millbrook Tarry Task Force at 7 p.m. and the 2229 Main Street Oversight Committee at 7:30 p.m.
- Wednesday, Aug. 14: Municipal Light Board at 8 a.m., the Natural Resources Commission at 7 p.m. and the Public Works Commission at 7:15 p.m.
- Thursday, Aug. 15: Board of Assessors at 7 p.m. and the Historic Districts Commission at 7:30 p.m.
3. Guided StoryWalk at the Playscape at Ripley: StoryWalk, which combines a deconstructed children's story with a walking route, is coming to the Playscape at Ripley from Aug. 15 to Aug. 18. A free guided StoryWalk featuring "Ruby's School Walk" from 3 to 4:30 p.m. this Thursday, August 15. It's sponsored by The Playscape at Ripley, First Connections, and Barefoot Books.
4. Author Event at The Elephant's Trunk: This Thursday, Aug. 15, Annette LeBlanc Cate, author of "Look Up" and 'The Magic Bunny" will drop by the Elephant's Trunk Children's Bookshop in Lexington from 2 to 4 p.m. sign discuss her books. Get the details here.
