Monday Essentials: Special Town Meeting, a 400-pound Wheel or Cheese and Holiday Sales

Here's a quick look at what you need to know for the week ahead in Concord.

Special Town MeetingA special Town Meeting will convene at 7 p.m. this Wednesday, Dec. 4 and its warrant includes articles seeking to repeal the town's bottled water-banning bylaw, to purchase 6.5 acres of land off Knox Trail in Acton to use for parking school buses and other school vehicles and to purchase land on Commonwealth Avenue in West Concord to use as parking space for users of the Bruce Freeman Rail Trail. Public Meetings Preview: According to the town website, here's the week's lineup of public meetings: 

3. Crucolo DayThe fourth annual Crucolo Day -- you know, when the largest wheel of formaggio Crucolo in North America parades into town -- will be held at 3:30 p.m. this Thursday, Dec. 5. Peter Lovis and his crew at the Concord Cheese Shop promise the event will be better than ever.

Concord Art's Holiday Originals Exhibition and SalesThe Concord Art Association's holiday sale begins at 10 a.m. this Thursday, Dec. 5, offering unique gifts including jewelry, wearable art and ceramics, paintings, photography and more. The sale runs through Dec. 20. Get the details here

Winter MarketThe Emerson Umbrella Center for the Arts will hold its Winter Market this weekend, with hours from 1 to 6 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 6, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 6 and 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 7. Get the details here
