Monday Essentials: Dog Training, 'Red' Opens
Here's a quick look at what you need to know for the week ahead in Concord.

1. Dog Training for Busy People: At 7 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 23, the Concord Dog Training Club will offer on of of its "Dog Training for Busy People" seminars, which include topics such as Crate Training, Jumping on People, My Dog Won't Come, Counter Surfing, On Leash, Aggression Towards Dogs and Trouble Shooting for your Rescued Dog. 2. Public Meetings Preview: According to the town website, the following public meetings are posted for this week:
- Monday, Sept. 23: the Board of Selectmen at 7 p.m.
- Tuesday, Sept. 24: Conservation Restriction Stewardship Committee at 1 p.m., the Personnel Board at 5 p.m., the Concord Public Schools and Concord-Carlisle Regional school commmittees at 6 p.m., the Millbrook Tarry Task Force at 6:30 p.m., the Planning Board at 7 p.m., the West Concord Advisory Committee at 7:30 p.m., the Recreation Commission at 7:30 p.m., and the Millbrook Tarry Task Force / Planning Board at 7:30 p.m.
- Wednesday, Sept. 25: the Central Middlesex Emergency Response Association (CMERA) Exec Board at 1 p.m.
- Thursday, Sept. 26: the Finance Committee at 7:30 p.m. and the Board of Assessors at 7:30 p.m.
- Friday, Sept. 27: the Bruce Freeman Rail Trail Advisory Committee at 8 a.m. and the Concord Retirement Board at 8:30 a.m.
4. Educator Night: Grades 4-5: Educators are invited to drop by Barefoot Books at 4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26 for an evening of networking and information sessions light refreshments and a 25 percent storewide discount. Get the details here.
5. "Red" at Emerson Umbrella: At 8 p.m. this Friday, Sept. 27, "Red," the Tony award-winning play, opens at the Emerson Umbrella Center for the Arts. Get the details here.
