Monday Essentials: A Golf Tournament, Aca-Awesome Alley Cats and More

Here's the scoop on what's happening around Lexington this week.

1. Selectman Snippets
After a short executive session, the Board of Selectmen will convene in open session at 7 p.m. today, Aug. 19, at the Town House and its agenda includes considering a new common victuallers license for Haute Coffee, an evaluation of the Town Manager, the WR Grace land acquisition and more. 

2. Rotary Club Golf Tournament: The Rotary Club of Concord's 25 annual golf tournament -- the Thomas Huckins Memorial -- to benefit the Concord-Carlisle Scholarship Fund is today, Aug. 19, at Concord Country Club. The tourney tees off at 1 p.m., preceded by registration and lunch from 11 a.m. Get the details here

3. Yale Alley Cats Performing in ConcordCarlisle resident Sam Petrie and other members of the renowned a cappella group, The Yale Alley Cats, will be performing at 7:30 p.m. this Tuesday, August 20, at the Trinitarian Congregational Church. 4. Make a MESS: Return to Dirtopia!  Drop by the Discovery Museums in Acton from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 21 to scoop, sculpt, squish, dig, climb, burrow, make mud pies, mud paintings, mud this, and mud that to discover the infinite potential of dirt. Get the details here

5. Imagination FestivalAt 10 a.m. this Saturday, Aug. 25, The Learning Experience is hosting an Imagination Festival featuring art, music, sports, food, games and more at its location at 130 Baker Ave Ext.
