A Chinese newspaper has identified the third Boston Marathon bombing victim as Lu Lingzu, a Boston University graduate student, according to the Associated Press. Lu, from Shenyang, China, was studying statistics in Boston. A second Chinese national and BU student, Zhou Danling, was also injured in the blasts. She is listed in stable condition in a Boston hospital, according to Chinese officials. Lu's death has led to an outpouring from friends, family and concerned neighbors in China. Lu's Sina Weibo page already has 20,000 comments from shocked and upset friends (Sina Weibo is a Chinese social media service that combines Twitter- and Facebook-like features). Rex Trailer, a Boston TV icon who had been recovering from pneumonia recently, has died. Trailer hosted “Boomtown,” a children’s show with a Western theme on WBZ-TV from 1956-1974. How did a Western cowboy make his mark in Boston? According to Wikipedia, his corporate overlords gave him a choice of Cleveland or Boston. But he's remembered for more than his cowboy get-up. The Boston Globe wrote in an editorial last year: Kids adored Trailer’s rodeo tricks. But mostly they adored him for his consistent kindness and competence. Trailer was 84. Pam Washek died Sunday, Dec. 2.
A wife and mother and volunteering icon has died after a 10-year battle with cancer. Pam Washek, the co-founder of the Wayland Angel Food Network (now the Neighbor Brigade), passed away Dec. 2, according to an obituary published on Boston.com. Today, Wayland's chapter of Neighbor Brigade is just one of more than 30 in the state of Massachusetts. There is also a chapter operating in Nashua, N.H., as the only non-Massachusetts chapter at this time. Concord's Neighbor Brigade chapter became one of the founding chapters in 2011, growing out of the Concord-Carlisle Angles group Concord resident resident Lynda Voghel started in June 2006. Willie (Charlene) Turner passed away on May 24, 2012, at Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine. She was born at home on May 7, 1934, in Imboden, Arkansas. She is survived by her husband, Leon, and her four children, Terry, Tracy, Todd and Tammy. She was blessed with three grandchildren, Jesse, Alisa and Timmy. She was also blessed with the wives and partners of her children, Nami Turner, Beth Johnson, Carol Haddad and Jon Garber. She is also survived by her sister, Charlotte Williams of Pocahontas, Ark., and is predeceased by her brother Jack, sister Coralee and her parents. She was an amazingly wonderful wife, mother and grandmother, friend and advocate. She was dearly loved and will be missed beyond words. Willie worked as a nurse …

Morgan “Kim” Smith Jr, age 75 of Concord passed away peacefully at his residence on Sunday Feb 6, 2011 with his family gathered by his side. He was the husband of Belinda “Binnie” Pleasants Smith. Born on December 10, 1935 he was the son of the late Morgan K and Beatrice (Stewart) Smith. Morgan was educated at the Fenn School, St Paul’s School and Yale University until he enlisted in the Navy. He finished his degree at Boston University. He taught mathematics at the Brooks School in North Andover, was the Headmaster at the Fenn School in Concord, and was the Business Manager and Teacher at Noble and Greenough in Dedham Mass.
