Accident Levels Stop Sign and Signal at Concord-Lincoln Line

An afternoon accident Bypass and Lexington roads on the Concord-Lincoln line created a peculiar scene and slowed traffic Thursday as three agencies pieced together what happened.

Police from Concord, Lincoln and the National Park Service responded to an unusual accident Thursday afternoon that leveled traffic signals and slowed traffic at the town line. The accident occurred around 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 16, where Lincoln's Bypass Road meets Concord's Lexington Road on Route 2A and the Battle Road through a Minute Man National Historical Park. A severed stop light laid atop a smaller Acura sedan parked alongside an NPS farm and cattle-covered field. A little ways to the west, a Stop and debris were strewn about a fork in the road. Bedford Woman Arrested for OUI After Striking Cyclist in Concord

The Sept. 20 accident snarled traffic along Route 62 during the afternoon commute and sent a Concord man to Lahey Clinic with apparently serious injuries.

The motor vehicle vs. bicycle accident that snarled traffic around Bedford Street and sent a Concord man to an area trauma center last Thursday afternoon also resulted in the arrest of a Bedford woman for operating under the influence and speeding. According to a police report, multiple 911 calls came just after 4:15 p.m. on Sept. 20 reporting a bicyclist was unconscious and breathing after being struck by a motor vehicle on Bedford Street, near Sleepy Hollow Cemetery. Concord Police shut down the street, normally heavy with traffic at that time of day, at Monument Square, while a unit from Bedford closed off the street at Old Bedford Road, the incident report said. Accident Snarls Traffic, Sends Bicyclist to Trauma Center

Or, why the afternoon commute through Concord took so long on Thursday, Sept. 20.

A motor vehicle accident shut down Bedford Street and sent an adult male to Lahey Clinic with apparently serious injuries on Thursday, Sept. 20, Concord Fire Chief Mark Cotreau confirmed today. According to Cotreau, CFD received a call at 4:18 p.m. reporting a bicyclist was struck by a motor vehicle near the Sleepy Hollow Cemetery. Emergency responders treated the adult male cyclist, who appeared to have serious injuries, and then transported him to Lahey, the nearest trauma center, Cotreau said. The road, ordinarily heavy with commuters at that time of day, was shut down for a period of time and traffic rerouted to nearby arteries. UPDATED: Sudbury Man Dies From Injuries from Saturday's Motorcycle Crash

One person taken to Emerson Hospital with undisclosed injuries.

(EDITOR'S NOTE: Due to an error in a press release issued by the Concord Police Department, the last name of the victim involved in Saturday's crash was misspelled. The victim was Sam Zebian of Sudbury.) According to the Concord Police Department, a Sudbury man involved in a motorcycle crash at Nashawtuc Country Club Saturday afternoon has died. Sam Zebian, 27, was operating the motorcycle when he struck a vehicle driven by Jarryd Heyl, 20, of Bedford. Heyl was not injured in the crash. Concord police said Zebian was found to be suffering from life-threatening injuries and was subsequently transported to Emerson Hospital. He was later pronounced dead at Emerson Hospital.
