Five Things: A Couple of Art Openings, a Book Signing and More

A quick look at what you need to see, do and know on Feb. 7 in Concord.

1. East Meets West Opening Reception: A cross-town collaboration between Emerson Umbrella Center for the Arts and ArtScape/Bradford Mill, East Meets West is an event in which the artists from one community will display their work at the other. Opening reception is from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. tonight at the Emerson Umbrella; ArtScape will host the closing ceremony in early March. 2. 1. Family Trees Opens Today: Now in its 17th year, Family Trees, an exibit that celebrates childrens literature at the Concord Museum, opens today and runs through Jan. 1. 2. 'Tis the Season to GIVE ART: Albright Art Gallery's annual crowd-pleasing holiday tradition GIVE ART, juried this year by artist Amy Goodwin, features small works by local and regional artists that are accessibly priced under $500. Five Things: GIVE ART Opening and Buddy Dog Benefit

A quick look at what you need to see, do and know today in Concord.

1. GIVE ART Opening Reception: The opening reception of Albright Art Gallery’s annual crowd-pleasing holiday tradition GIVE ART is from 6 to 8 p.m. this evening. This year’s exhibit, juried by artist Amy Goodwin, features small works by local and regional artists and runs through January 6. GIVE ART was established to promote the giving of original art for the holidays while also providing exposure for emerging artists, and all works in this exhibit are priced under $500. 2. Benefit for Buddy Dog Humane Society: From 5 to 8 p.m. tonight, Lyn Evans in Concord is hosting an evening of shopping, raffles, silent auction, refreshments and more to benefit Buddy Dog Humane Society.
