Current selectmen Chair Carmin Reiss and newcomer Alice Kaufman are expected to be elected to the Board of Selectmen later this month.
Barring something very unexpected, current selectmen Chairwoman Carmin Reiss will be re-elected and Alice Kaufman will become the newest member of Concord's Board of Selectmen afte the annual Town Elections later this month. At the League of Women Voters Candidates Forum held Sunday, March 3, they two women introduced themselves and answered a handful of questions about the selectmen's priorities, housing, agriculture and communications between town and school leadership. This Wednesday night, the League of Women Voters of Concord and Carlisle will host a candidates' night for seven state senate hopefuls seeking the 3rd Middlesex seat that state Sen. Susan Fargo, D-Lincoln is vacating after eight terms. The event will be held 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 15 at the Harvey Wheeler Community Center at 1276 Main St., Concord. The event is free and open to the public. The Democratic candidates are Mike Barrett, Alex Buck, Mara Dolan, Joe Kearns Goodwin and Joe Mullin. Republicans Gregory Howes and Sandi Martinez also plan to attend. The following announcement comes from LWV of Concord-Carlisle Communications Director Julie Rohwein. The League of Women of Voters of Concord-Carlisle will host a Concord Candidates Forum on Sunday, Feb. 12, from 2-4 p.m. in the Town House Hearing Room, 22 Monument Square. Snow date is Feb. 26.
