Shop Local to Show Your Love This Valentine’s Day

From flowers to sweets to one-of-a-kind jewelry, the merchants of West Concord have got it covered.

With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, some West Concord businesses will be making it real easy to show your shop local love. Next Saturday, Feb. 9 six stores in West concord will be hosting a “Valentine’s Day Crawl,” featuring free food and drink, special deals and a raffle for a $100 West Concord gift basket. Here’s a breakdown of the offerings, according to a press release provided by noa: Many of the gifts continue through Valetine’s Day, according to the press release, just show a dated receipt from one store at the others and receive a free gift with purchase.

Flowers and Pastry: Concord Businesses Moving Forward

Concord Convenience opens the Trail's End Cafe and Concord Flower Shop finds a new home.

You may have noticed a few changes to the streetscapes around town lately, as two popular Concord businesses are celebrating expansion and relocation of their operations. After more than two decades, the Concord Flower Shop has left Thoreau Street for a new location in West Conocrd, and Concord Convenience on Lowell Road recently celebrated the opening of the Trail’s End Cafe. Helen Halloran of Concord Flower Shop said she is more than pleased with her 135 Commonwealth Ave. location, which officially opened on Sept. 6, and all of the friendly faces in town that have welcomed her back to her old neighborhood. “I grew up within walking distance of here, so it really feels like I moved home in a way,” Halloran said, recalling the days when …

Take a Ride With Concord Pedicab

Helen Halloran of Concord Flower Shop took a fun ride on Thursday thanks to Concord Pedicabs. She shares her experience here. What’s the best way to get to a Rotary Club meeting on a hot day? Concord’s Pedicab! Andrea Zall of Frame-ables and I shared this unique mode of transportation and thoroughly enjoyed it in spite of the heat. Sue Merlino, Concord Bike Tours and Pedicabs owner, graciously donated her time and energy to safely pedal us to our destination at The Colonial Inn where we meet for Rotary each Thursday. With the cover up for shade and the breeze blowing in our faces, we made the trip from Thoreau Street in record time.
