Emerson Hospital Evaluating Two Patients After Boston Marathon Explosion

A hospital spokesperson confirmed the Concord hospital is evaluating two individuals after the explosions that rocked the Boston Marathon's finish line this afternoon.

Two individuals are being evaluated at Concord's Emerson Hospital for minor injuries after the explosions this afternoon at the Boston Marathon's finish line, a hospital spokesperson confirmed. It's unclear whether the patients were runners, spectators or were near the marathon's finish line for some other reason, according to the spokesperson, who said both individuals drove themselves out to Emerson. How Does Emerson Hospital's ER Wait Time Stack Up?

Medicare database shows how hospitals across Boston—and the nation—compare for care. Hospitals, meanwhile, criticized the data as inaccurate.

Which area emergency room is the most efficient? Well, there are a couple of answers to that question, according to data released by the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services. At Emerson Hospital in Concord, the average time patients spent in the emergency department before they were seen by a healthcare professional was 58 minutes, which is longer than the state and national averages of 40 and 30 minutes, and much longer than the wait at Mass. General, which is 10 minutes. UPDATE: 'Medical Episode' Could Have Caused Maynard Man's Accident

A Maynard man was pronounced dead following a Jan. 2 accident in West Concord, but police say a 'medical episode,' and not the car-into-snowbank collision, may be the cause of death.

The death of Maynard man involved in a motor vehicle accident earlier today may not have been caused by the crash, according to Sgt. Jack Kennedy, a spokesman for the Concord Police Department. Around 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 2, the Concord Police and Fire departments responded to the area of 2194 Main St. in West Concord for a report of a car off the roadway and into a snow bank. On arrival, officers found the vehicle locked and running, with its driver unconscious inside, a CPD press release said. Officer Richard Hodgson unlocked the car, removed the driver from the vehicle and, with assistance from Officer Michael McGrath, preformed CPR on the driver. The driver, later identified as Peter Porrazzo, 84 of Maynard, was the only person …

A Maynard man has died following a motor vehicle accident that occurred Wednesday, Jan. 2 in Concord, police said.   When it comes to baby names, the popular picks at Emerson Hospital here in Concord were pretty consistent with national trends in 2012.   At Emerson and across the nation, according to BabyCenter.com, girls names this year had a certain retro chic, with classics like Emma, Sophia and Olivia claiming top spots on both lists.
