The Healthy Concord initiative plans its next survey, RTBC hosts another Cocoa House, and two plays grace town stages.
Hello all, and happy Thursday! I know, it feels like it should be Friday, doesn’t it? But there’s still one more day to go in the week, and that’s a good thing, because Thanksgiving is one short week away. I don’t know how that happened – it just kind of snuck up on me. It’s so hard to be healthy. Which brings me to Jill Block and the initiative she’s currently running on keeping Concord healthy. I had heard whispers of this here and there, so I tracked her down to get the dirt, so to speak. I’m a strong supporter of regular exercise and healthy eating…

Some great theater is happening over at the Concord Players, and at Emerson Umbrella.
Good morning and welcome to Thursday! Another beautiful fall week is coming to a close; I hope you’ve been getting out and enjoying the mild temperatures and colorful leaves – though not as colorful as I would like, I have to say. Does it seem a little duller to you this year? It does to me. One thing I love about the fall is the start of the theater season, and we’re lucky to be swimming in it here in town. The Concord Players holds auditions for their first show of the season, and it’s time to buy your theater subscription.

The thing is, if you want to be a part of fall theater, you have to be thinking about it now, which is why I’m here to tell you about the Concord Players. First off, for all you thespians out there, it’s time to prep for auditions for their first show of the season, Mister Roberts. This comedy-drama won a Tony in 1948, and takes place aboard a ship during World War II. It has a great ensemble cast, with roles for nineteen men and one woman – yes you read that right. So guys, get out and audition; we need you! Here’s the skinny: You need to prepare a short (2- to 3-minute) monologue that shows your best stuff – it’s …
