5 Things: Trusting Fate Performs Tonight at Main Streets

A quick look at what you need to see, do and know on May 15 in Concord.

Trusting Fate plays at Main Street Market & Cafe: At 7:30 p.m. tonight at Main Street's Market and Cafe, Trusting Fate the acoustic trio of Paul Therkelsen, Mike O'Brien, and Susanna Doyle, will perform original music and select cover songs.  2. Five Things: An Artists Reception and a Citizen Survey

A quick look at what you need to see, do and know today in Concord.

1. Photography Show Artist-Public Reception: There's a reception from 5:30 to 7 p.m. this evening at Nashoba Brook Bakery for a new exhibit of fine arts photographs by Garry D Harley showing in November and December at the bakery's community gallery. 2. Citizen Survey: The town has begun its bi-annual telephone survey, done to determine the opinion of residents about how well the town is providing programs and services. According Concord's town webiste, the town has contracted with Pacific Market Research to do the actual calling of 375 randomly-selected residents for the survey, which takes about 15 minutes to complete and the responses are anonymous. Elizabeth Warren Coming to Concord Oct. 31

The U.S. Senate hopeful will stop by Nashoba Brook Bakery this afternoon.

As Hurricane Sandy leaves Concord in its wake, Elizabeth Warren's campaign is rolling into town. According to her campaign, Warren, the Democrat angling for the U.S. Senate seat currently held by Republican Scott Brown, will be stopping by Nashoba Brook Bakery in West Concord around 3:30 p.m. today, Oct. 31.  "With just less than a week to go until Election Day, Elizabeth will be shaking hands and talking to people about what's at stake on Nov. 6," a field organizer wrote in an email Tuesday night.  Warren and Brown were originally scheduled for a live debate moderated by CNN's John King last night, but Brown bowed out, citing Hurricane Sandy as the reason. Winner- Best Sandwich in Concord

The race was neck and neck between Country Kitchen and Nashoba Brook Bakery.

The results are in and Patch readers believe the best sandwich in Concord comes from Country Kitchen. Receiving 38% of the vote, Country Kitchen took the prize with readers citing sandwiches like the turkey with stuffing and cranberry, and the turkey salad in a pita as big factors in their decision. Patch reader Marianne wrote about Country Kitchen, “They are fast, friendly and our version of Cheers, a place where they get to know you and your taste! Fresh, great prices, great hours and completely personable.” Coming in an extremely close second with 34% of the vote was Nashoba Brook Bakery.
