The New England Patriots cheerleaders will hold an open audition for the 2013 squad on Saturday, March 2. Women who are at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or GED are invited to audition. The auditions will take place in Gillette Stadium’s Dana Farber Field House. Registration begins at 10 a.m. Candidates will perform two designated routines and a freestyle combination. They will be judged on dance ability, showmanship, overall appearance and level of physical fitness. Judges will narrow the field to up to 65 participants to be invited back for final auditions on Saturday, March 16. For more information on the audition process, click here. Middlesex County Sheriff Peter Koutoujian recently lost a bet over the AFC Championship game.
Middlesex County Sheriff Peter Koutoujian followed through on a promise and delivered New England Clam Chowder to the Waltham-based REACH Beyond Domestic Violence on Tuesday, Jan. 29. According to the Sheriff’s Office, Koutoujian, who lives in Waltham, delivered the chowder to the domestic violence assistance organization to pay off the bet he made with Baltimore Sheriff John Anderson over the outcome of the AFC Championship football game during which the New England Patriots lost to the Baltimore Ravens. The chowder will go to domestic violence victims. “REACH is an organization with whom I have had a long affiliation. Tom Brady and the 14-3 New England Patriots will host Joe Flacco and the 13-4 Baltimore Ravens today for the AFC Championship. Hot off a 45-10 victory over Tim Tebow and the Denver Broncos last weekend, the Patriots have only to survive this weekend in order to secure a spot in the 2012 Super Bowl. A victory today would lead to New England's fifth Super Bowl appearance in 11 seasons, and yet another opportunity for Brady to solidify his position among the upper most echelon of NFL quarterbacks, along side four-time Super Bowl champions Joe Montana and Terry Bradshaw. Do you think Brady and the Patriots will get that opportunity, or are the Ravens harbingers of a heartbreaking end?

Time to Kick Back and Kick Off It’s finally in full swing. While is today National Talk Like a Pirate Day, a slew of birthdays, and the first installment of the 2011-2012 American Revolution Round Table, yesterday was the home season opener for the New England Patriots, who were highly successful in their defeat of the Miami Dolphins last week and beat the San Diego Chargers this weekend. The Pats' next game is Sunday, Sept. 25 at the Buffalo Bills. Kick off is at 1 p.m. Over the course of the season, many will kick back to watch the games, leaving their mates to kick around looking for something to do. It's football season and our hometown teams are off to great starts. Whether you're focused on the New England Patriots playing in Foxboro, or the Concord Carlisle Patriots playing at Memorial Field, both teams have an equal opportunity to make return trips to their respective super bowls. The New England Patriots took their home opener this weekend, 35-21, in a hard fought battle against the San Diego Chargers. The Concord Carlisle Patriots trounced Lexington this weekend, 40-14.
