Email alert also identifies overflow parking lots available.
Ongoing construction at Concord-Carlisle High School could present a bit of a parking problem as spaces will be limited and annual Town Meeting has several potential high-interest items on the warrant. The following notice hit the inbox earlier today: There is limited parking at CCHS due to ongoing construction. We encourage people planning on attending Town Meeting to arrive early and car pool when at all possible. There are two overflow parking lots that will be utilized at the Alcott School and Concord District Court. There will be buses to transport attendees for Town Meeting to and from CCHS. Concord-Carlisle High School is located at 500 Walden St. The Alcott School is a short distance away at 93 Laurel St. and the court house is …

Morning drop-off, afternoon pick-up and parking are all affected as site work begins on the Concord-Carlisle High School building project.
It’s been a rocky road to get here, but site work has begun on the Concord-Carlisle High School building project. In a communication to the community, CCHS Principal Peter Badalament explained the start of site work, while an exciting development, would result in “some changes to daily life” on campus, with new patterns for traffic and parking taking effect today, Feb. 25. The letter, which was sent home to parents prior to February vacation, can be read in full by clicking the PDF posted to your right, and is also available on the CCHS Building Committee’s website. “The most significant change that will impact you as parents is the way in which you pick-up, drop-off and park,” Badalament wrote, before laying out the changes. “While some…

Selectmen and Town Manager continue to discuss possible remedies to parking concerns.
In response to concerns expressed by the Chamber of Commerce last week, the Board of Selectmen and Town Manager are continuing their examination of the parking situation in Concord's commercial centers. Following the conversation with the Chamber's Stephanie Stillman, in which the amount of spaces and the duration of time allowed at the metered spaces was discussed, the Board decided to look into their options for remedying the concerns expressed by both business owners and customers. Town Manager Christopher Whelan said the request for proposals seeking a consultant to conduct a parking study is just about ready to be issued. The study itself, he said will take up to six months. In the meantime, Whelan said he has met with the Police …

Looking for space in Concord; Concordian Ed Bernard performs in "Arsenic and Old Lace" in Littleton.
I would like to be writing the article that you should be reading right about now, but I’m too busy looking for parking at Emerson Field. Between track meets and baseball games, I spend a lot of time looking for parking there. And given that there’s a playground, pool and tennis courts there, as well as perfect dog running space, it’s no surprise that many people need to park there. But seriously, it’s a large park with two plus sides devoted to parking, and a small but functional parking area by the Hunt Rec building; you would think it shouldn’t be such a major effort to find a spot to slide a minivan into. You would be wrong. And here is the issue: people tend to park like we live in the suburbs, that is, leaving almost half a car …
