If you go by the weather, it appears that summer has finally decided to hang out. After the winter and spring we had, I did promise myself that I would not complain about the summer weather, no matter how hot and humid it got. And I’m sticking to it, even as this week is looking like it might be hosting the first heat wave. My house is old and doesn’t have air conditioning – yes, I do know this is the 21st century – however, we do have ceiling fans, and if we get desperate there’s a window air conditioner stored in the garage. But until then, when it’s been heat-wave-hot for several days in a row, I need to cool off, and if, like me, you don’t have a house by the beach or in the mountains, you may want to know how to do this here in town. …
