Weather: Thunderstorms Today, Hot and Humid Later This Week
The National Weather Service warned that strong to severe thunderstorms will pass through the area on Monday afternoon and evening, and that later this week, the heat and humidity will rise to hazardous levels.
Scattered severe thunderstorms are expected to pass through Burlington and the surrounding area this afternoon and evening, the National Weather Service (NWS) warned on Monday. In a hazardous weather outlook statement, the NWS said the primary threat from any severe thunderstorm will be "strong to damaging straight line wind gusts." There's also a concern about isolated reports of large hail.
