Five Things: Excise Taxes Going Out Today

1. Excise Tax Time: The town will be mailing more than 13,000 motor vehicle excise tax bills today, according to the most recent Town Manager's Report. The 13,776 bills being issued total $1,906,134, an increase of 9.2 percent compared to last year, the report says. 2. Today in Public Meetings: According to the town website, public meetings posted for today include the Thoreau School Advisory Council at 6 p.m., the Willard School Advisory Council at 6 p.m., the Finance Committee at 7:30 p.m. and HATS (Hanscom Area Towns Committee at 7:30 p.m. 3. Cell Phones for Soldiers Collection Drive: Through Jan. 31, the Holy Family Parish Youth Ministry and the non-profit Cell Phones for Soldiers are asking Concord residents to help troops call home …
