ReplyBetter yet, come to First Parish at 50 Church Street tonight (Friday, 3/22) - Energy efficiency extravaganza - free - accessible - kid-friendly. Enjoy information shared by experts, hands on demonstrations of DIY improvements you can make to save on your heating, water and electric bills, and - of course - refreshments. Suitable for homeowners and tenants. Several organizations and Waltham's Energy Action Committee will be on hand to answer questions and provide tips. http://watchcdc.org/healthy-homes and http://www.walthamuu.org.

I like the idea of a clothing or mini department store.
Apparently 27 of the 269 units are "affordable," meaning of course that 269 units are not affordable. Legend has it (and it may be true) that at the one or so "affordable" units at Cronin's went to the mother of the very wealthy developer who put it in.

ReplyWas thinking we might want to travel to our neighboring city of Watertown and listen in and observe their PLANNING process. When done well, I bet many voices can be heard and the city then has something to base its decisions on. For various reasons, I am NOT saying this is necessarily at issue with 1 Moody, but just putting this out there as a response to all the good-intentioned citizens who might not all agree but all want and need a voice. ReplyPerhaps we should just wait for the two banks to merge and then we can get it down to fewer drive-throughs.

ReplyAbsolutely, I agree! My kids are now in their mid and upper 20's, but recently I had the occasion to go to a playground with a friend's grandchildren. The playground area was crawling with parents, and the benches where parents would normally be sitting and chatting it up were deserted. Many of the little kids also had cell phones, but that's another story for another day.

ReplyYou could use up all the legos making one of these lego sorters: http://trib.al/vOm1fHl ... you will have no legos left to step on, but then again, you will have nothing left to sort!

ReplyPersonally, I'll be more likely to support Frozen Yogurt Innovations since it's actually a local business, and I can bike there more easily than to the Mall. I also like that it's more walkable from the immediate neighborhood and playground.

I don't understand how anything on Waltham's School Street can be on the Waltham/Newton line. Sort of near Newton Street, I suppose...
