Trinity Forum: Come and Journey with Me

Trinity Episcopal Church in Concord invites you to its Sunday morning Adult Forum, Trinity's adult education program, which meets weekly at 9 AM to hear speakers sharing their experiences on one of six themes — word, worship, wonder, world, witness, work — each being an important aspect connecting faith with everyday life.  Trinity's complete Forum schedule is available at http://trinityconcord.org/forum.shtml.

On Sunday, October 6 at 9 AM we focus on "wonder" in a conversation with parishioner John Lewis about his own journey of faith.  One of the recurring metaphors of all faith traditions is the journey. We make sense of our lives by understanding them as journeys, as the unfolding story of who we are and what we do in the world. We think and talk and worry about our career arcs, or our family histories, or our financial forecasts, or our estate plans. In our better moments we think and talk and pray about our spiritual journeys – all ways of thinking about our lives, our stories, about the journey that has been, and the journey that will be. In some deep way, journeying is an elemental part of who we are as human beings.

Throughout this program year, parishioners will share thoughts about their life, their faith, and their journeys.

In the first of this non-contiguous series, John Lewis will speak about important experiences from his own journey and how they inform his faith. John has served many roles at Trinity, including that of Senior Warden during that important time when we engaged in the search for a new rector, ultimately resulting in a call to Tony Buquor. John, his wife Ruth, and their daughter Beth, can be seen most weeks in the right transept during the 10AM Eucharist. of Trinity's Vestry who will provide an update on the Parish House Project.  A question/answer segment is included in this discussion.

Trinity's invited Forum speakers come from many walks of life and have addressed all manner of topics -- serious, mysterious, personal and world-focussed. Among our recent topics are pilgrimage, faith lost and found, histories and Biblical persons, death, dying and grieving, parenting, stewardship, education, and much more.

Childcare begins in Trinity's nursery at 9 AM; Trinity's buildings are fully accessible.  For further information on this or other programs at Trinity, please call our Parish Office, 978/369-3715, or visit us online at http://www.trinityconcord.org.
