$18K in Copper Stolen From Concord Municipal Light Plant

The following is an excerpt from the Concord Police Department's log: 


Monday, Feb. 24:

  • At 1:00 a.m., police responded to a report of suspicious activity on Walden Street.
  • At 8:48 a.m., police responded to an alarm on Concord Crossing.
  • At 10:47 a.m., police responded to a report of suspicious activity on Jennie Dugan Road.
  • At 12:27 p.m., a man entered the police station to report that his car was vandalized while parked on Baker Avenue.
  • At 12:50 p.m., an employee of the Concord Municipal Light Plant on Elm Street called police to report that approximately $18,000 worth of copper had been stolen from a dumpster. 
  • At 4:13 p.m., police responded to a dog complaint on Nutmeadow Crossing.

Tuesday, Feb. 25:

  • At 8:57 a.m., police responded to a motor vehicle accident near the intersection of Everett and Walden streets.
  • At 12:56 p.m., police responded to a minor motor vehicle accident involving a fire apparatus on Commonwealth Avenue.

Wednesday, Feb. 26:

  • At 1:59 a.m., police responded to a report of suspicious activity at Ripley School on Meriam Road.
  • At 9:42 a.m., police responded to a dog complaint on Old Marlboro Road.
  • At 10:45 am., a Mattison Drive man entered the police station to report a possible attempted break-in.
  • At 6:55 p.m., police responded to an alarm on Monument Street.

Thursday, Feb. 27:

  • At 12:28 a.m., police responded to a report of suspicious activity on Main Street.
  • At 9:09 a.m., police responded to an alarm on Thoreau Street.

Friday, Feb. 28

  • At 9:15 a.m., police responded to a motor vehicle accident near the intersection of Main Street and Sudbury Road.
  • At 9:28 a.m., police responded to a report of an altercation in the parking lot of the Dunkin' Donuts on Thoreau Street. Joseph A. Centauro, of 309 Annursnac Hill Road, Concord, will be summonsed on charges of disorderly conduct and assault with a dangerous weapon (motor vehicle).
  • At 5:44 p.m., police responded to a report of suspicious activity at the Concord Municipal Light Plant on Elm Street.
  • At 6:56 p.m., police responded to a report of two women fighting on White Avenue. Leila A. Srivastava, of 18 Strawberry Hill Road, #12, Action was arrested on charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, illegally possessing a class A substance, illegally possessing a class B substance and illegally possessing a class E substance.
  • At 11:42 p.m., police responded to a motor vehicle accident on Bedford Street. William C. Reynolds, of 153 Garfield Road, Concord, was arrested on charges of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and negligent operation of a motor vehicle.

Saturday, March 1

  • At 1:20 a.m., police responded to an alarm on Elm Street.
  • At 8:35 a.m., police responded to a traffic signal complaint at the intersection of Thoreau Street and Sudbury Road.
  • At 12:42 p.m., police responded to a motor vehicle accident on Stow Street.
  • At 4:42 p.m., police responded to a disturbance involving a coach and referees at rink 1 at Valley Sports Arenas on Main Street. Eric M. Healy, of 31 J St., Hull, will be summonsed on a charge of assault.
  • At 7:10 p.m., police stopped a motor vehicle on Walden Street. Luke A. Goroshko, of 5 Sunset Ave., Medford, was arrested on a charge of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.

Sunday, March 2

  • At 12:51 a.m., police responded to a report of suspicious activity on Baker Avenue.
  • At 2:12 a.m., police stopped a motor vehicle on the Concord Turnpike. Jaime L. Mejia, of 151 South St., Rockport, was arrested on charges of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and for reportedly having an outstanding warrant.
  • At 10:26 a.m., police stopped a motor vehicle on Old Road. Jay P. Hardy, of 9 Maple St., Greenfield, will be summonsed on charges of operating an unregistered motor vehicle and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
  • At 11:06 a.m., police conducted a well-being check on Main Street.
  • At 4:08 p.m., police conducted a well-being check on Newbury Court.
  • At 6:30 p.m., police stopped a motor vehicle on Walden Street. Angela L. Morse, of 27 Genetti St., Bedford, was arrested on a charge of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and for reportedly having an outstanding warrant.
